The newly renamed Democrats of New Sweden (previously: Det Nya Sverige [The New Sweden]) elected DKN, famous for once being president of Germany, as their new party leader in the August 10th party elections.
He most notably competed with Karl Holm, Swedish minister of finance, and josefstark, a politician known for his well written articles. DKN received 24 votes, while Karl Holm and josefstark received 14 and 6, respectively. DNS is the third biggest Swedish party, holding 8% of congressional seats.
What were the main reasons that motivated you to run for party leader? DKN: I was president for a long time and would like to do more for eSweden/DNS than just vote. I would like to give the party something back of what the party gave me as a new member...trust.
What two issues do you consider your most important issues? DKN: Economy - because it bothers everyone and is the most important thing a lot of citizen Integration/transparency - to show the strength of the Swedish society to EVERY citizen
