Right, first of all I wanted to write this last night but I thought people may question the motive behind the timing with elections the next day! I also thought it would also be good to post it today so citizens will have a benchmark against which to judge the performance of their new government's handling of the economy.

As explained in the last Daily Erepublik the admins have recently overhauled the way GDP is calculated and whilst there may still be some small changes the new system is a lot more accurate than what we had before. So thanks to the admins for the hard work in refining the stats. But due to the changes I am only going to post current amounts and not the percentage changes since my last report.

Top 10 by population:
1 Sweden 2318
2 Indonesia 1143
3 Norway 895
4 Portugal 692
5 Spain 657
6 UK 555
7 Pakistan 522
8 Romania 450
9 USA 447
10 France 220

Sorted by GDP:
1 Norway 4218.72
2 Spain 4155.13
3 Portugal 4153.93
4 Sweden 3797.37
5 Indonesia 3134.86
6 Romania 2851.75
7 UK 2756.88
8 USA 1045.67
9 Pakistan 750.47
10 France 727.57

Sorted by GDP/Capita:
1 Romania 6.3
2 Spain 6.3
3 Portugal 6.0
4 UK 5.0
5 Norway 4.7
6 France 3.3
7 Indonesia 2.7
8 USA 2.3
9 Sweden 1.6
10 Pakistan 1.4

INTERPRETATION:
No great surprised about the top 3. All three countries had good sized populations already in December and therefore have a more skilled workforce making them very competitive exporting economies. I'm naturally very proud to see UK at 4th place given we had such a small population in December.

I think the main reason the USA's economy looks so bad is because of their dreadful balance of trade. Very few US companies are exporting at the moment.

Sweden and Pakistan are probably at the bottom mainly due to the hyper inflation that their economies previously suffered and are still recovering from. And Indonesia, whilst being a strong exporter, is probably suffering from having a large population that is not as economically active as it should be, therefore devaluing their GDP/Capita score.
